One of my favorite single origin coffees is Papua New Guinea. Its smooth taste, robust flavor keeps me coming back for more. These beans come from where else Papua New Guinea where it is the second largest agricultural export. Most beans are cultivated in the highlands were 70% of Papua New Guinea’s population rely on the agricultrual product for their means of living.
The coffee is naturally produced since fertilizers and pesticides are too expensive and unobtainable. This is why the coffee has be given the label organic. The results offer coffee with naturally low levels of caffeine and acidity. Papua New Guinean coffee is said to have a full-bodied flavour. I personally find hints of fruitiness with the beans.
If you are ready to explore beyond your usual blend or origin give Papua New Guinea a try.
How many times have you heard a friend or family member say that to you? It’s an invitation. I am always on the lookout for interesting stories to bring to my customers whether it is a new coffee receipe or some new health benefit coffee provides. Today I want to talk about communication. How a simple cup of coffee can bring people together. Case in point I read an article today about how the mayor of San Francisco is going to set up dates where the citizens can meet with him for a cup of coffee to talk about city concerns. Article: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/03/12/coffee-with-mayor-ed-lee_n_1340101.html?ref=topbar
How great is that? In a time now where we are losing that face to face contact we still can rely on simple coffee converstation it is our way of getting back to basics. How many of your family members meet for coffee? My father meets with his “coffee buddies” every evening, they have become a close group having something in common the love of coffee and the art of converstation. My father-in-law goes to the local barber shop in town where he meets with the owner he made a friend over a cup of coffee. How many of you have met someone special in your life through a cup of coffee? I am in awe over something so simple. Thanks to acupofjo. (well you know what I mean)
Did you set a new years resolution to drink less coffee? I hope not… research shows that coffee can help protect against heart disease, type 2 diabetes and even some cancers. We are not talking jumboccinos here you should probably take it easy after the fourth cup and watch the high calorie mixers. Keep sippin..

Here is a great latte receipe: The taste has a hint of a familiar candy bar.
1 shot espresso, 1 cup skim milk, 1 tablespoon of caramel-flavored coffee syrup, 1 tablespoon of hazelnut-flavored coffee syrup, 1 tablespoon sweetened ground chocolate, whipped cream (optional) and caramel ice cream topping (optional)
Pull espresso shot. Steam milk to 12o F. Mix syrups and chocolate with the espresso until smooth. Stir into steamed milk. Pour into mug. If desired, top with whipped cream and caramel ice cream topping.
Delicious!
So we hear a lot about whether coffee is a health benefit or not these latest findings will make you want to have another cup.
A new report from Havard Medical School says that drinking coffee moderately will lead to a lower risk of type 2 diabetes.
Did you know that athletes who drank coffee prior to exerting themselves were able to improve their performance by up to 12.4%.
Drinking coffee regularly protects against the development of Parkinson’s Disease. This has been studied since 1968 and includes a project that tracked 8,000 japenese men living in Hawaii for 27 years. Those who drank four cups of coffee a day were five times less likely to develop the disease than those who drank no coffee.
So don’t feel so guilty when you grab that extra cup it is likely to have great health benefits.
